Die Forschungsstelle für empirische Sozialökonomik e.V.

ist eine unabhängige wissenschaftliche Einrichtung mit Sitz in Köln.

Die Forschungsstelle wurde 1958 zu dem Zweck gegründet, die erfahrungswissenschaftliche Basis der Wirtschaftswissenschaft durch systematische sozialwissenschaftliche Verhaltensforschung zu erweitern. Der Ansatz der sozialökonomischen Verhaltensforschung befähigt in besonderer Weise, empirisch gestützte und praktisch verwertbare Vorschläge für staatliches und unternehmerisches Handeln zu entwickeln.

Forschungsschwerpunkte sind die Finanz- und Steuerpsychologie, die Transformationsforschung, die Schattenwirtschaft, die Konsumforschung, die Unternehmensforschung und die Neuen Technologien.

The Office for Empirical Research on Social Economics
is an independent scientific facility based in Koeln/Cologne, Germany.

The institute has been established in 1958 for the purpose of enlarging the empirical foundation of economics by systematical behavioral research of the social sciences. The approach of socioeconomical behavioral research enables in a particular way to design and develop recommendations for government and business which are empirically based and applicable.

The main focus of research is on psychological aspects of taxes and finances, on transition, shadow economy, consumer research, business research, and new technologies.
